Carbon dioxide on lungs

Yesterday was such a good step in the right direction my brother-in-law was moved ventilators and they'd stopped the paralysis and lowered sedation, his heart test was good.. ( forgive my lack of medical terminology)

But today they had to go back on all of that progress as he has carbon dioxide on his lungs.

They said they are doing all they can but it might be best to prepare.. we've not had that said by the docs until now.

He's been 21 days in hospital, 12 days on vent.

They said was he heavy smoker my sister said he was a social smoker only but they will treat him like he is a heavy smoker they said.

They are proning him today, he'd been proned 5 times, but not for the last few days until today.

He is the youngest on the ward at 50. I hope they can turn this around.

They have to give worst case scenario. I hope he improves as he is relatively young and has that on his side. Best wishes for his recovery

Yes, sounds like he needs to get this fluid off his lungs. Thanks so much.
