Hi, I suffered from sepsis in April 2016 with 20% survival rate, since then my health has been up and down, in the last 6 months I've been in and out of hospital.
I ache all over, tired all the time, can't catch my breath plus my memory /concentration is shocking, all these issues are getting me down, I am only 47 and I just want to get back to normal (what every normal is!!!!).
Can anyone advise me if they have had the same issues and the best way around it.
Thank you

Lock your post and you may find people are more forthcoming . I, like you had Sepsis April 16. I eventually came out of hospital in Aug. First year was more problematic, frequent infections etc....I had no immune system. Tried to eat healthily- got a nutrabullet - put in anything that would help my gut get back to normal, took vitamins to fight off infection, took manuka honey as soon as I started coughing or spluttering - unfortunately the expensive stuff is the only one that has any real manuka honey in it. I did/do regular exercise- a rehabilitation gym class at hospital and take my dogs out everyday. Within 2 months of leaving hospital, we were figuring out how to form a support group for expatients & family members. By Dec we opened our doors. I did voluntary work for a couple of hours once a week and slowly increased it. I’m now back working full time in a physically demanding job, which I always did. What I did was everything to take myself out of living in my own head all the time. I had to force myself back into the flow of life. Sepsis is often described as the gift that keeps on giving...at the moment I am losing mobility in my fingers especially my right hand - another thing to get checked!!! I suggest trying to talk to people who have experienced what you have, don’t get discouraged or by other people’s attitude to how you are dealing with the legacies of ICU - family had a different ( albeit awful) experience- but yours isn’t ever over.
