Hi Karen: Oh... there isn't anything worse than pain from the neck up. Tooth pain is really bad. I think you could go the the hospital emergency room for pain control if it gets too bad and you really can't stand the pain. You could call them first and ask if there is anything you could do at home before you use them as a last resort. It sounds like a tooth is at war with a nerve to affect your whole face. This is making me wince as I type.
I am not medically trained but, an old family remedy that seems to work, at least temporarily, IF IT IS ALRIGHT FOR YOU TO HAVE ALCOHOL. Take a cotton ball and soak it in Southern Comfort. It is 100 proof and packs a sweet wallop. Place it directly on the bad tooth and allow it to anesthesize the area. Try not to suck, just swallow. It's not easy to keep it in there but in 5 minutes or so it seems to get better. Numb. You can't use it all day though. (Even though it only adds up to be a few teaspoons on the cotton ball.) Just when you get to the point where you MUST to do something~. Apply a lot of common sense and a little self control. Also, congnac works and Grand Chartreuse works. Whatever you have in the house that is about 100-110% alcohol.
I'm so sorry you are in pain. I hope it gets taken care of soon. Any pain from the neck up seems to be the worst to me.
Thank you there is no pain its numb which is odd when I have a gapping hole in my tooth. think I have so much pain in my head that tooth pain is not any problem. Will ring the denist when open.
