Can I assume that the cheap 75mg asprin that you buy from the supermarket is exactly the same stuff that you get if you were to get it on prescription at £7.00+?
Also does anyone know if this is the same for Folic Acid
I hope everyone is doing ok?

They are totally the same. Most Dr's will flag that up to you if you don't have a Pre-payment card and tell you to get the supermarket brand for pennies.
We can't get the low dose aspirin in the supermarket here but can buy it at the pharmacist without a script. I second opting for the enteric coated version.
Neither can you in France.....you have to have a prescription for it! I have aspirin but the one I take is called Kardegic here in France and is a sachet of power to put in water......I do take stomach protector also x x
I get mine from Waitrose - Wockhardt gastro-resistant tablets 75mg - cheap as chips!
I've just been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome and we're trying for another baby. I've been prescribed low-dose aspirin which I've begun taking but I think the dispersible tablets are upsetting my stomach so I want to switch to the gastro-resistant tablets which you swallow whole. Does anyone know if these will be as effective, or if I should stick with the dispersible? Will it make any difference in terms of the aspirin's effectiveness on blood thinning?
The dosage is the same, and they will work just as well, myself and children are on them, you need to tell your doctor about this problem and then they will change it for you with the pharmacy. Although unless you are on free prescriptions, cheaper to buy your own.MaryF
