Embryo Transfer (IVF) Tommorrow with Hughes - Advice Needed re Asprin

Hello Peeps

After sadly losing our little one at 4 months pregnant last year I was diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome.

Due to male infertility factor we are on the IVF route (3rd attempt). We have been pregnant everytime but miscarried at 7,9 and 16 weeks (twins in the 2nd attempt).

I am suddenly having a panic and need some advice.

We are due for an embryo transfer tommorrow, all going well, and the consultant I am going to be under if we can get a BFP will put me on clexane and asprin at around 5 weeks pregnant. Reading around some people are put on Asprin when trying to get preganant, during IVF or straight after the embryo transfer.

There are views from some that Aspirin can effect implantation negativly, but others say it can help - so I am now confused.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of this?

Thanks in advance for any help

Miranda

I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions, but I have gone through IVF and a high risk pregnancy. I started aspirin at 20 weeks when my diagnosis was made. I can only imagine how nervous you must be after so much heartache. I hope things go well tomorrow! My thoughts are with you and your family! Good luck!

I think you really need to discuss this with your doctors. I was also told that the aspirin can affect implantation but I know other people have been told the exact opposite! I was started on aspirin as soon as I had a BFP but this was with a natural implantation rather than through IVF. All the best!

Hi there, wishing you the best of luck - the fact that they have now picked up with Hughes Syndrome, should make the process much smoother and also safer - do feel free to ask your team detailed questions, they should be able to answer you clearly. Best of luck. Mary F x

I was started on baby aspirin prior to even trying to conceive after losing my first son and then twin girls. I was never told that it could negatively affect implantation. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this and wish that your little one was just here safely in your arms. Wishing you tons of luck and hoping you get a BFP!

Question? Is invitro covered in the UK health, or do you have to pay? Here in Canada we do have to pay for it?

I started on aspirin and clexane injections at 3 weeks pregnant so as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I guess that most women on here have started once they found out not before. Good luck, will keep fingers and toes crossed for you!
