I don’t think you should ever stop it without discussing it with the person who prescribes it. You must be on it for a reason
You must only stop it with the prescribing doctor's say so.Apixiban doesn't usually effect normal blood test results, if your doctor wants a percific test then they would have advised you.
I've never taken apixaban so I don't know. But with warfarin they have me take it even when doing blood tests in order to check my INR so my guess would be yes. Maybe call an urgent clinic to ask?
I take warfarin and aspirin and have never stopped taking them for blood tests. These will not effect other numbers that are being tested.
I’m sorry I’m just seeing this pop up on my feed-
To my knowledge, no.
( side note: The good news is that you will be able to be tested again(?) ( for the first time?) just to keep tabs on levels for the Lupus anti coagulant antibody specifically on this one- so that’s a plus! Easy to get all three of the anti bodies checked in a straight forward way. )
I’m currently on warfarin, but have been on apixiban briefly in my past.
It’s not terribly uncommon with APS to be switched a time it two to see what suits the patients best.
