Anyone receiving filler or Botox that has a APS? Currently on Lovenox and my hematologist nor my injector is willing to advise on how to move. Don’t want to take a rest if I don’t need to

Hi, first question do you have a diagnosis for Hughes Syndrome/APS? Many things can upset our immune systems with this disease. Some on here have had Botox for migraines, so perhaps you will get some informative answers. Regarding fillers not so sure. MaryF

Hi I have botox and I have APS and Lupus SLE ans I take warfarin and hydroxychloroquine. I’ve had no issues at all and my specialist was fine with me carrying on. I have never had fillers so I am not sure about that but my injector is a nurse as her primary career so I would go with her guidance if I did.

If your injector is not a nurse could you maybe research and find someone new?

I was told by my dermatologist who does Botox, fillers etc , that she’d never advise anyone on warfarin to get fillers, but Botox is fine! I never had either as I can’t imagine getting needles in my face, especially around the eyes. Not for me!

Mine said the same. Botox is ok but fillers wouldn’t be advisable.

I have had fillers (twice, years ago) and Botox probably about 7 times (APS, lupus and other marvellous AI's 🙄). I actually checked with my rheumy before getting them too and he just advised getting the most natural filler possible. No issue with either (just increased bleeding & bruising) but found the effects wore off quicker than they should have (which I've since read could possibly be because of autoimmune issues). I had a qualified nurse do mine, not an aesthetics practitioner. Helped massively with migraines. No longer have it as can't afford it unfortunately.
