Warfarin

On day 3 of warfarin now. Day 1 was 5ml. Day 3/4. 10ml. Got hospital tomorrow for INR Check. But the worrying thing is, the warfarin nurse, totally miss read my notes. And put down my condition as Venous sinus thrombosis. Instead of APS.

I didn’t actually realise this at the time, but that is scary!!!! Some of the treatments for VST are totally different for that of patients with APS!!

Don't be afraid to point this out to her when you next see her or when you get the results. Anyone can make a mistake but be on the ball when it comes to your health.

Do point out her mistake, but the first goal of warfarin management is similar in both cases: thin the blood! So in the short term, this is no biggie. Long term can be fixed by pointing out her error.

Hi, my original diagnosis was VST/CSVT, it was when they investigated why it happened that I had the APS diagnosis. But my ‘yellow book’ says CSVT not APS.

The treatment is the same (warfarin) but they should still have your records correct.

I got them to update it.

I would raise this politely and firmly with the clinic just so the finer detail is noted, best of luck. MaryF
