I've been confused about my results...

Beta 2 Glycoprotein, IgG<9 SGU----isn't this negative and what does this one measure?

Beta 2 Glycoprotein, IgM42 SMU--this one is high.

Sorry. I am not up on exact numbers from tests. Usually, lab results are part of the greater picture which includes symptoms, history and other lab or examination reports.

1. Were your anti cardio lipin antibodies drawn?

2. B2GP1 IgG and IgM both measure antibodies that bind to components of blood and phospholipids - and cause swelling and irritation of vessels and the blood itself to be prothrombotic. I have given a basic overview and I think the knowledge has advanced beyond even this. You would need an APS expert to really explain it.

Yes, you are above the range with 42- it’s also <9 to be in the normal range. ( I just pulled my results from May. I’m not sure what lab my rheumatologist uses though.)

You have told us that you earlier had positive Anticardiolipin antibodies. Did they take those this time also?

Sometimes they take both IgG and IgM for those two tests (S-Kardiolipin and S-Beta2GP1) Called Multiplex here in Sweden. Lupus Anticoagulant is not taken I guess as you take Warfarin at present. They should take those test twice (as said before) with 12 weeks between the bloodtests.

The numbers can go up and down. I guess you have already had a positive diagnose of APS.

Ask your Hematologist about the numbers if you do not understand.

Thank you this was my most recent test

Have you changed your "name" and picture here. I am very confused. I have seen "red roses" and a "name (Kathy?)" and now "Oculto." It is very difficult to follow and answer when you do not know who the person is you answer. Can you explain please. What does "hidden" mean?

Very often before I answer, I read about the person who puts the question, what she or he has written before. That way it will be easier to understand and not have to ask unnecessary questions about symptoms and Specialists etc. This is impossible now when I press on "Oculto". Nothing shows up.

I think it is the first time this has happened during several years I have been here on this site. At least when I want to know more.

I know you have changed "identity" (name etc). Very confusing. Your illness has interested me.

I want to tell you this so you understand why it could be important for us to read previous questions and that way help you much better and go back several years and understand your special APS-case.

Not what you're looking for?
