My daughter has APS and is afraid that because she has an autoimmune disease her body might react more violently to Corona than people without such a condition. Is there any evidence of this?

Are people with APS more susceptible to Covid19?
Hi, no reports in yet, we've been told we are not at any more risk of getting the virus but to how we will cope is still unknown.
I'm self isolating and keeping away from included areas, staying outdoors for walks daily.
Trials and records are being recorded and hopefully doctors will be able to tell us more soon.
Do take a look at the post I put on recently below yours! You might find that to be a useful read. MaryF
Thanks Holly and Mary,
What is really worrying my daughter is that because she has an autoimmune disease, she thinks that if she gets covid19 the disease might trigger an autoimmune reaction. Apparently she heard something like this on the news.
Yes it has been reported that some covid patients are getting an autoimmune reaction similar to our APS blood results, ie sticky clotting blood.
The advice from Prof Hunt, a leading APS specialist is, if you have APS and get Covid 19, please continue your normal anticoagerants, stay hydrated and mobile where possible. Contact your own specialist once officially diagnosed for further advice.
We are so different with our APS, that individual advice with our specialist is the norm anyway.
