Hey folk. What ghastly times these Virus Days are. Hope everyone is staying safe.
Last year at my APS appointment with the Lupus Unit I was informed they would be transferring me from Lupus to Haematology and I would have an appointment with them to assess me. But being triple positive APS I would still be seen annually or so (or more often with a worsening of symptoms). That assessment never happened.
And it seemed like my appointment was to have been with the Lupus unit still - today April 3rd. Had got a text last week to say this was cancelled due to Covid-19. Now I receive a letter saying "no further appointments have been made for you and you have therefore been discharged."
Of course one would expect all routine appointments to be cancelled in the present emergency. But does this mean the service is not set to return at some point?

If I were you, I think I would be writing straight back, copying in any GP's and specialists you have, explaining that you completely understand that the COVID 19 is causing problems with the clinics and appointments, and that you do not expect to be discharged away from a future appointment, and that you will be expecting them to reinstate your appointment in the future. Thanks Mary and Holly. This letter is from "Appointments Administrator" so part of management one suspects. Yes I'll write back and copy in Dr Sangle and the GP. I like that expression "I do not expect to be discharged away from a future appointment". A bit difficult to argue that discharge is through clinical need!
