MTX tablet or Injection?

I have been taking Methotrexate for some considerable time. I am told that a percentage of the tablet form is not taken up by the body. To counter this some of you have been switched to injecting instead. Can I ask those that do inject how you went around getting the injectable sort rather than tablets?

Taking MTX orally made me so ill, I had to stop. Severe nausea & vomiting is a common side effect as with all chemotherapy drugs.

As soon as the injection was available, I used it & have been using it for 20 years or so. There’s some evidence that the injection is better tolerated & works better than the tablet.

Ask your consultant for it.

With good wishes,

Ros

That is really interesting to hear about the difference between the two types of application. MaryF
