Racing heart and pounding head with topiramate?

My neurologist put me on 25 mg topiramate for 7 days, then increase to 50 mg. However My head and heart are pounding! Funnythe pharmacist said topiramate doesn't have pemthremine in it! But everything I read says it does! I stopped it. Pharmacist said to cut it in half. I think I'll do every other day due to the racing Heart and pounding head. I did read I shouldn't use cannabis with it? So I don't know if the dose is too high for me to start? Anyone else get a racing Heart or pounding head, high blood pressure?

Topiramate is the active ingredient in Topamax and here in UK, all types of Topamax contain just Topiramate.

However, in US you can get combo medication Topiramate- Phentermine.

Phentermine is not legal in UK.

Topiramate should be taken every day and should not be stopped abruptly, if you need to change your dose or stop you need to do it slowly. Speak to your GP or pharmacist about your side effects please, this is not a type of medication to experiment with on your own.
