I wrote a request last week about specialists in my area then raised questions about a specialists written report. I am hoping someone can help me with those two questions.

Hi, Im sorry I dont know any of any specialist in Canada, hooefully someone on here does. What do you mean by written report?

If you mean what blood tests - Ive copied an earlier response from ApsNotFab earlier post -

The three antibody tests your doctor needs to do (at the hospital) are:

anticardiolipin aCL

Lupus Anticoagulant LA

Anti beta2 glycoprotein1 anti-B2GP1

The two other conditions that run with Hughes, making the Big 3 is Sjogrens and autoimmune Thyroid Disease.

Many of us can also have other autoimmune conditions like Celiac Disease or RA.

Its important to make sure your Thyroid tests are done properly including the two thyroid antibodies, FT3 and FT4. Add into that Ferritin, B12, Vit D too.

Sorry cant be of more help xx

Hi we gave some pretty detailed answers to your questions, also, members often do pop up and give you answers regarding specialists. You could try contacting the name on this list in Canada and see what they suggest. apsaction.com/research

Hi Salmonious,

I can see that you have got two excellent answers from both MaryF and APsnotFab to your question. To tell your GP was it?

I saw that you need a new Specialist (could be difficult to get exactly an Hematologist) who knows of our illness in southern Ontario Canada. It is a tricky illness!

Very few doctors know of this illness so it can be a challenge (a fight I usually call it) to get in touch with such a Doctor also near to your home. I know a Swedish woman who got an appointment with Prof Hughes who is the best one you can find.

If you now have no Specialist i would suggest you put up a new question on our site and ask directly to our members if there is someone in Canada who knows of a good Specialist.

The best I can suggest. Hope you are Lucky to find one!
