Genetic Testing

Do you have to be off of blood thinners to get accurate results for sticky blood. When I went in the hospital with pulmonary embolisms, the lab said I had sticky blood. When I had genetic testing, I was on warfarin. I'm wondering if I should have been off of warfarin.

Hi, your medical history will have given them course of concern, which will have triggered the testing. I enclose details of the tests, as written up by The London Lupus Centre, as you will see there are three tests and it is only the Lupus Anticoagulant which is affected by Warfarin. londonlupuscentre.co.uk/hug...

Not every patient passes all three tests. I normally pass two out of three.

I hope your medical consultant/GP can answer some of your questions.
