hi I am new to the group and just wondering if there are any reports on aps being passed on to your children? I am 10 years diagnosed after suffering a PE after my daughter was born. She is now 10 and my son 7. I have asked my GP numerous times about my concerns but he does not seem to share . Any Advice appreciated

Hi, welcome, I was originally told I had acquired it!, but looking back at my mothers history, although she was not diagnosed our health history is identical. My son was born with Immune deficiency which he grew out of aged 7, but is now going through cluster headaches and asthma, so is going through testing again. My daughter was tested 5 years ago and was negative but her GP is watching carefully.

If your children show any signs or symptoms of the disease I would request they get tested, other wise I wouldn't worry. This could develop in them later, but as you are aware of the disease I'm sure you will pick up early. xx

Hi,

Hi,

This illness is said to run in families and I have relatives back in time with suspisious heart- and neurological symptoms like me.

I have today grandchildren and I hope the girl will avoid p-pills. As HolyHeski says if they show signs of our illness get them tested otherwise do not worry about it.

Best wishes from Kerstin in Stockholm

My understanding is that one does not inherit a specific autoimmune disease, but autoimmune families of diseases do run in families.

For example, lupus, APLS and Sjogrens are in the same autoimmune family.

And at the same time, it's important to note that autoimmunity tendency is probably genetic, but development of the actual disease occurs only after exposure to a trigger event – which can be a virus, a food allergy, or some other infection. So getting an autoimmune disease from your parents is not a foregone conclusion.

I hate to say homeopathy but if you can find the physical problem like blood flow or whatever and take natural supplements by a trial basis really examining your status using tiny amounts to test all reactions also new foods there might be a cure in the grocery store the mind is also very powerful imagine an army of tiny soldiers doing repairs just a way to activate natural defenses which we have no idea of the powers we have within

I hope you find the answers

Unfortunately, quite a link I'm afraid In many cases. ( not all, so take heart, but be vigilant.)

Looking back on it, it's very obvious my mother died of this in 1996 ( she was 66 years old.) when I was only in my mid 20's. She had been dealing with clots off and on since she delivered my twin sisters in the 1950's with pre eclampsia complications. They were very premature but thankfully lived.

She flipped a leg clot after delivering me. She did it again when I was 7. Again when I was in college. Finally aneurysm/ multiple clots/ stroke.

Then came my multiple clotting / drastic colorful early history/ diagnosis.

And now my 15 year old son has flagged for antibodies. He only has frequent headaches and POTS. Jr asprin helps him tremendously! No actual clots yet at all.

Our daughter , 25, is testing antibody free at this time.

Not what you're looking for?
