Hi all,

Can anyone advise me whether I need a GP letter or other proof of my APS condition in order to take fragmin injections abroad?

Thanks

As long as you have an up to date prescription, that should be enough, although I have a letter as well, even though its very old now.

No one has actually asked to see either, all over the world.I have always carried with me, onto the plane & not put into the hold.

Happy travelling..

Hi krysty

I was told by Flybe that I needed a Dr's letter and so I duly got one and had no problems on a day trip from Southampton to Dublin and back.

I would get one, if I were you, as it would be crazy to turn up at the airport only to be refused boarding on the flight for the sake of the letter.

My GP was fine about writing it.

You will probably need a letter to get holiday insurance as well

And if you are going for a long distance flight, a letter can also facilitate getting aisle seat so you have more opportunities to stretch your legs.

Thank you to everyone who has replied. I will get a letter from my GP before I travel and make sure I have the prescriptions. We are only going to Bavaria to house sit for a friend for a couple of weeks in June, but it will be a welcome break as she has a farm on the edge of the black forest and its so peaceful. My partner has already sorted out seats with more leg room. x

I've travelled to Singapore for work with my fragmin injections and security didn't bat an eyelid. I've travelled with BA and they didn't ask for anything. That said I carry an up to date prescription that my pharmacist stamps.

Have a good holiday.
