I was on Clexane (same stuff as Lovenox) twice daily and dose was dependent on weight. I was changed to Xarelto after a year because I developed a DVT. From memory the dosage was 10mg/10kg body weight.

I'm in Australia :) We don't have all the restrictions here as far as meds or choice of doctor goes. Also my Prof of Haematology (has enough clout to make 'off piste' decisions for his patients) is at the local hospital so visits covered by Medicare, as is Rheumy. I'm on a part pension so all my meds are $5.20 (Xarelto is $95/month full price)

I was out for a walk and my husband asked if I knew I had a fat leg. I thought he was being smart but he said to take a good look. Right leg was considerably bigger but I had no pain or warmth. In fact I would probably have ignored it if it hadn't been pointed out to me! My GP immediately sent me off for an U/S and it was discovered then that I had 15cm clot in groin.

The standard dosage of Lovenox is calculated at 1mg/kg of body weight. I was on Lovenox twice daily (12 hours apart) as I titrated warfarin dose for several months post PE. Ultimately discontinued Lovenox and remained on warfarin alone + aspirin. I have APS + prothombin gene mutation.

When I do need to take lovenox, I do an injection in the morning and one in the evening. My doctor uses my weight to determine the dose.
