Had major stroke 2011 . But not had MRI since 2013 just recently had operation in sept so have recently had a new MRI that has shown since last MRI in 2013 I have new small tiny clots or lesions what would cause these and what are they ?
I have had many Tia's but didn't think they showed up on MRI scans !

Its likely damage from CVA's. There are strokes, there are TIA's, which seldom leave visible damage and then there are CVA's, Cerebral Vascular Accidents. A CVA can leave visual damage in the brain. That is my understanding if how this all works. I am not a dr but its what I learned when studying strokes. A stroke is bad, a CVA is not as bad but worse then a TIA. I usually use the severity of symptoms and how long it takes to FULLY recover. If it is short and I recover completely in a day I say inhad TIA, if its longer, more severe and takes multiple days to recover I call it a CVA. Of course there are many things that can go wrong n the brain sobits possible they lessions are from something else. I just wanted to tell you what inhave learned about various strokes. Hope this helps. Be sure to talk to your dr about what the lessions may be as I am only able to talk about causes that could be from APS. Also u could have some clots in there but one would think if that is true they would have admitted u to the hospital. Happy Holidays! (Again just one possibilities)

If you have that Doctor I think you can feel safe and as I understand it your INR is steady and around an INR of 4.0. Do you selftest?
As long as you keep your anticoagulation steady and feel good you do not have to think of micro-clots etc.

Yes I've seen prof hunt last month this month then again nxt month in the new year 👍 She and her team at st Thomas are excellent and I'm very lucky to have such a great Hostiptal so close to me .
It's sad that Richard glaves my thrombosis nurse has retired now .
I have had to drop my Inr twice in the last two to three weeks to 2.4 as needed teeth taken out and dentist would not touch me unless I dropped my Inr 🤐.
Have felt very ruff over the last few days with pains in chest front and back and pain in left arm .was worried I had pe in lung nearly took my self to A&E last night .
Hoping it may just be my lupus playing up

I am not an expert of bridging but I have heard that the others always are anticoagulated when doing some sort of operation. I think it is Heparin or similar instead of Warfarin they take a couple of days before op and also after till the INR is stable in the right therapeutic level.
I thought you had the intension to switch your dentist to another one who could take the tooth out without bridging.
How is your Warfarin at present? Do you selftest?
You should not be without anticoagulation and reduced to an INR-level of 2.4 twice during the last weeks. If you have pain in your chest you should go to A & E. It could well be a PE.

Ido self test but dentist would not rely on my self testing results and insisted on a Venus Inr from st Thomas .
I take fragmine when my Inr drops below 3 but can only take it 24 hrs before time of op as other wise would make me bleed during extraction.
Took 12 mg as soon as I had Venus test then fragmine injection about 3hours after seeing dentist.
Some times you do what you have to do to get tooth out and be pain free😉
TIAs can show on mris - mine did. I had TIA with all symptoms resolved within 45mins, but by then I was on way to several days in hospital while they tried to get my bp down somewhere near normal. Had CT and mri and the TIA shows on both, they can tell me what size of arteriole was blocked and the amount of brain affected etc. The scans also show evidence of previous incidents that I didn't even notice (or recognise) - I guess those would also be TIAs.
Hi, there, not all TIA's show up on MRI's, So people appear to have different experiences with this. I am glad you have had a detailed reply from SoulRebel-APS who has clearly been through the various processes with this. I am sure your main consultant will review you thoroughly. As far as I can see on internet etc TiaS will not show up on MRI scans but may show up on ct scans
Due back at st Thomas at the end of January I'm sure that the doctors will feel me in more then 👍
I'm more then happy with the help I've received from st Thomas which is a lot more then I can say about my local hospital st helier 😬
