I have not, but I hope the appointments goes well for you. MaryF
Saw Dr Situnayke on Wednesday evening. Feel a little confused after everything I have read.
He went through my history and said the question of whether they will diagnose me depends on whether I have had a thrombotic event and there is significant question mark over whether I had a TIA or was suffering from high/low blood sugar given all the difficulties I have had since. He said it will be up to the stroke specialist to decide that once he has reviewed all my tests. All of my tests are normal except the lupis anticoagulant. A
Clear heart scan and CT, MRI and Doppler. Cholesterol 4.1, triglycerides 1.6.
He examined me fully and said he could not see any physical sign of APS/lupus and he said that the cardiolipin antibodies usually go with LA antibodies and I have not tested positive for the cardiolipin.
He ended the meeting saying that he would arrange for more blood tests to check for other autoimmune conditions so I am guessing lupus and sgrojens and a retest of the other test to see if I am positive LA a second time.
He didn't seem concerned about my balance issues or ear ache or dizzy spells but in fairness I did explain to him that these have been noticeable since I have been on clopidogrel. I asked him about clopidogrel and he said he doesn't prescribe it much at all.
Finally he said he had just come back from a concerence I think I'm San Francisco where the consensus was in positive testers for APS who haven't had a thrombotic event and are not displaying obvious symptoms the consensus at the moment is not to treat them.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks
Emma

I am glad he is running the blood tests again, even if one is positive it indicates things in the right direction, keep an eye on your symptoms you are due to see him again, most doctors are reluctant to use anticoagulants without and actual thrombotic event! I have had blood clots, multiple during pregnancy but am now on only Aspirin, which currently suits me. MaryF
Thanks Mary. I am
Worried about my children and I notice you have both of yours diagnosed. Did they have symptoms or did you ask for testing x
