Hi.

I have primary APS and I have similar feelings in my legs too. These make it hard for me to go cycling sometimes. Mine came on partly as a result of taking statins and partly from taking blood pressure medication; I don't take the latter any more.

I have found that taking 200mg of Co-enzyme Q10 per day has help this problem to a degree.

Best regards.

Dave

Hi Everton14,

It certainly can be! Have you been diagnosed with APS?

Leg pain, swelling, reddening and being hot to touch are all possible indications of DVT which can be a symptom of APS.

I would get yourself checked out by your GP at the very least, personally I would probably head to A&E.

Take care!

I'm very glad you've got an appointment with the haematologist coming up soonish, that's a good starting point. In the meantime if you're still struggling to manage your symptoms do go back and see you GP.

It might also be worth calling the haematologist's secretary to see if they can put your name down in case of cancelled appointments.

I hope you do start getting some answers soon, it's good that you have family who can understand what you're going through at the moment. Quite often they are a bit in the dark as to why we feel in so much pain or so fatigued all the time.

If he has done bloods he should be letting you know what the results are!

If you have APS you really need an APS specialist to manage your condition.

Where are you from?

Always good to investigate pain like this, and your GP may push the appointment to an earlier stage is he/she is worried about it. Let us know how you get on. MaryF

Hi, leg and or rib pain can be symptoms of vitamin d deficiency. I read a paper somewhere that said people with Aps are more likely to develop vit d deficiency. Mine came as severe leg pain. It was not picked up by rheumatologist although I think they knew but just didn't bother to tell me. After months of excruciating pain I went on holiday and after only three hours in the sun the pain miraculously disappeared. I now take vitamin d tablet daily.
