Can any one help!

I've only just been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome, and am trying for a baby.

Hi and welcome, please let us know where you are located, if in the UK there is a list of specialists on this forum and charity website clearly available across the UK, this will give you the expertise in terms of medical support/medication. It is crucial you have this support before starting really. If not in the UK we will try our best via previous knowledge or via other members to help. MaryF

Hi

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm in Birmingham and was told on Friday I have Hughes syndrome after having 2 miscarriages. I have had 3 consecutive positive test for antiphosholipid syndrome . The specialist I am under has put a care plan in place if/when I fall pregnant which is 75mg of aspirin and 40mg of clexane.

Due to different fatality issues I've asked for Clomid, if given this drug I will have to go on to clexane while taking Clomid.

Do you have any advise about this please, as my age and fatality problems are causing me some concerns?

Thank you

Tracey

Hi it sounds as if your specialist knows what they are doing. Please familiarize yourself with the charity website: hughes-syndrome.org/ and of course the list of specialists in the UK hughes-syndrome.org/self-he...

You will probably get feedback from other members on here who have been in similar situations or are perhaps currently.

Hi Tracy and welcome.

I second everything that my colleague, Mary, has said.

I am not sure what you mean by 'different fatality issues', could you elaborate on that point please.

Best wishes.

Dave

After two miscarriages and a still birth I was also diagnosed with APS. Read my previous posts and you'll see that heparin is a miracle drug and is the best you could be on for a successful pregnancy. Good luck x

I'm clearly not trying for a baby but I am on Fragmin (low molecular weight Heparin) and it keeps me feeling reasonably symptom free and alive.

Best wishes.

Dave
