So peeved off!!!!!

I have now (Friday last week) had my third heart attack and both my cardiologist and heamotolagist both agree I need a home testing kit! But the NHS don't pay so how do I go about getting the funding? Can anyone help?? I'm so frustrated

Hi there, if only they would look at the fact that it would be more cost effective to give you a machine, sometimes people can argue the case. I would get your MP involved! They will be willing to help people with the build up to the next election, also please contact Kate Hindle at the charity either by email or on here as KateH and ask her if she has any ideas, also sometimes members find they do not get on with the machines and sell them on, but of course there is also the issue of the testing strips. If only the whole picture could be looked at in terms of hospital admission and check ups etc and they could see the longer term picture.... I hope you are feeling much better soon. MaryF

Would your consultants consider you going on Clexane or some other anticoagulant injection, which would mean that you would not need to test your blood, like when you are on warfarin. I don't know but is Warfarin the best drug for you
