A sad article carried by The Telegraph and The Mail

A member sent this to me this morning, I hope we can all continue to raise awareness, as maybe this was another missed case.

The issue here is nursing staff cannot prescribe any change of treatment. The most they can do in many situations is summon a doctor. But that is rarely done and most usually if a doctor appears they are often not the most experienced doctors so often lack knowledge. Its often really hit and miss when you are admitted to hospital. You just hope you will find a doctor who understands your condition

Yes, I agree, currently lots of letter writing is going on, both for this case and the last one from a few days ago. People are keen to do their bit and that is great. Naturally I always include link to the charity itself and other useful things such as well written papers of previous newspaper articles. MaryF

Very sad indeed, more needs to be done than has been for awareness let alone hospital standards.....I have re posted article on my sites, sent letters & on way now to my mp.....thoughts go to the family & friends of Margaret xx

This is so awful. I hope her family take it further and involve the media. It makes me angry that they would not listen to her family who repeatedly told them about her previous blood clots.
