St T's appointment brought forward.

I was referred to St T's by my rheumy up here. It was supposed to be a one off. They saw me twice; told me to come off warfarin, go on plaquenil (both of which my rheumy disagrees with ~sigh~) and said they would see me in a year's time - which I was fine with; as I said it was only supposed to be a "one-off". They also found I have pernicious anaemia which I am now being treated for. So I am grateful.

Today I have a letter that brings my appointment forward by six months to May. I guess they are going to discharge me then????? This is fine but now I'm wondering is there another reason I'm being brought forward - lol - forever the worrier!!

I see my hematologist on Monday to go through recent blood tests so at least I won't have to wait long to be sure I am ok.

Has anyone else been brought forward?

Yes to what has been written above, I am glad to hear of the earlier appointment, and just keep good notes and records and be firm and assertive. Nearer the time, if feeling worried, take somebody with you who you can trust to help you diplomatically and firmly fight your corner. MaryF.

I live in the United States, Baltimore, Md. to be exact. I just don't understand what is going on with APS across the ocean! I was diagnosed with APS (the primary type) in 2002. Although from what I have read (internet) that one is born with the antibody, but for some folks it doesn't manifest itself until years later in the form of a DVT, PE, CVA. From what I have read Coumadin is the best choice in controlling APS.
