Hi Panda

You should press for these to still be prescribed as they are approved for prescription.

I have no idea where you could buy them apart from a pharmacy but you should insist that they continue to prescribe them.

Best wishes.

All My PCT do now is give out12 strips per year and there is no hope of getting more on prescription. I will ask my pharmacist if he can get them for me.

I thought you could by them from Roche , though they are more expensive than on prescription.

Thanks. I'll have a look on the website. I know they are expensive because the nurse told me, but there is no hope of getting any on prescription.

If it's coaguchek strips you're looking for, I got mine from online seller DMES. Very reasonable and I could get enough to last me almost a year, which was such great relief to not be fussing and begging for refills all the time.

I check INR weekly and my insurance (partially) covers 4 strips monthly, with no exceptions. What if a strip is wasted? Or I need to check more often because I'm sick or out of range? So paying cash upfront for a large supply is actually the less expensive way for me.

Buying through Amazon (same seller) eliminates shipping costs.

No prescription needed because the company seems to assume you're a doctor's office, but they don't ask.

Good luck on this. It can be pretty frustrating.
