Hi I am new to Hughes Syndrome. I can't take Warfarin so I take 162mg of aspirin. Is anyone else treated with just aspirin?

Hi and welcome you will find good support and lots of info here, you are in the right place. I am sure you will get answers from those just on Aspirin, I am on Aspirin and Warfarin, but I know some are on Aspirin, you will soon see you are not alone, there are those like you. Are you under a specialist who put you on the Aspirin?

Yes I see a neurologist and a rheumatologist. I am allergic to warfarin so this was the route left for me. I also take plaqueneil.

I was recently diagnosed and I'm only on Asprin. They also prescribed plaqueneil but I decided against that. Have you had any blood clots or PEs?

I found out that I had APS through an MRI which showed I had a stroke (TIA). I had the MRI to check my brain because I have migraines. I am also on plaqueneil.

Thank you for taking about taking aspirin instead of Warfarin. My question is did any of you suffer from migraines? By any chance did taking the aspirin help with the headaches? If so which dose....the 81mgs or the 162mgs for APS? If your headaches got better, how soon after you started taking aspirin did you start to see a difference? I was just recently diagnosised and not sure what medications are going to work best. Thanks kindly!

Hi, I was concerned when first diagnosed that I was only on aspirin but 18 months later my symptoms are much more manageable. I take 75 mg aspirin daily but when I feel a migraine attack coming on take 2 300mg ( advidesd by neuro) It seems to work for me last year I was off for 3 months with recurrent migraines, this year only 3 days.... I have made others changes- listened to my body more and rested instead if trying to work through it. Good luck

I do suffer from migraines, once I started on aspirin and plaquenil they seemed to have gotten better. I take a lager dose of aspirin because woman can be more resistant to aspirin.
