Hi Cmur , Mostly HIV has no symptoms until the bodies immune system breaks down after years of infection . There can be a fever type illness several weeks after initial infection but this passes . As many illnesses cause a fever this is not diagnostic of HIV . HIV is not an easy infection to acquire , so if you are ill it is likely to be some other cause . However if you think you have been exposed to HIV go and get tested , it is very simple .
