Hi guys!! Hope you’re doing all good. I have a question regarding about covid vaccines... Do HIV patients need to be careful with what kind of vaccine should we have? Currently available here in the Philippines is Sinovac Astrazeneca and Moderna.

Covid Vaccines
Hi Herby , If you are on medication with undetectable HIV virus load and a CD4 level above 500 , effectively your immune system is the same as anyone who is not affected by HIV , so all normal medical rules apply . As far as I'm aware there is no real difference in safety between the vaccines . All have been tested , and all medicines have potential side effects . There is a concern over Astrazenica causing blood clots , but study shows that the incident of this after the vaccine is administered is below what is average for the population - so this appears to be an unfounded concern .
If your immune system is severely compromised you will need to discuss vaccination with your doctor , but as far as information specifically relating to vaccine brand in relation to HIV , there does not appear to be any .
