HIV transmission from oral sex

Can you realistically get HIV from a HIV positive woman, if they were giving you oral sex (mouth to penis) and you already had an STD (Chlamydia)?

Hi Patrick , HIV is actually much harder to catch than other STI's and it is not transmitted by kissing . It is very unlikely to be transmitted through oral sex .

Hi griffon, thanks for the reply! I know that hiv is much less infectious in saliva because of certain processes, so it’s very hard to transmit hiv via that route. However would the presence of another sti change that risk?

Normally having a pre existing STI increases the chance of acquiring HIV infection with penetrative sex . However because the actual physical mode of transmission is so greatly reduced in oral sex , it is very unlikely that a pre existing infection will make any difference to the low level of risk involved .
