Ive seen quite a few posts recently about there being a cure for HIV, at least 3 people 1 in London have gone into remission from the virus, is this true? Will this cure be available for all, it'll be a miracle and will make such a difference to so many people's lives.

As I understand it there are two HIV sufferers in the world who have apparently gone into remission/overcome the virus as the result of receiving a bone marrow transplant treatment for cancer . The donor bone marrow contained an immune gene that 1% of Europeans carry . The transplant appears to have transferred HIV immunity . Unfortunately at the present time this cancer treatment is a very expensive and invasive procedure that is not practical as an HIV treatment for general use . It does however give hope for further research that could lead to a cure .
