I have severe arrhythmia and have been taking warfarin for 5 years also clopidogrel since December, when I had a stent fitted. I am due to have a cataract removed in May and wonder if it will be necessary to adjust my medication ?

Thank you for your message, halting medication for a procedure is not unknown, but ultimately the decision will be based on the bleed risk associated to the type of procedure, which will be assessed and decided upon by the surgeon conducting the procedure. If you do not have a pre-med appointment scheduled in advance, then please contact the hospital today.

Kind regards
