The Charity has been approached to recruit a small number of candidates to participate in a study on behalf of Edinburgh Napier University.
Title: Lifestyle risk factor reduction programmes for Atrial Fibrillation: A Qualitative Study
What is the purpose of the study?
UK cardiac rehabilitation does not currently include provision for atrial fibrillation. This study will explore the experiences of individuals living with atrial fibrillation and what, if any lifestyle risk factor reduction support you received.
To be eligible to take part in the study, you must:
• Have known atrial fibrillation (paroxysmal, persistent, permanent or lone)
• Be aged ≥ 18 years
• Be able to give informed consent
• Be able to complete an interview in English
What does the study involve:
If you agree to participate, you will be invited to take part in an interview over the phone or on Microsoft Teams, which we estimate to last around 45-60 minutes. During the interview you will be asked a number of questions about your experiences of atrial fibrillation and your expectations of support services offered (or not offered) to you to help manage lifestyle factors. The purpose of this study is not to assess you as a person, but it is to explore what individuals with atrial fibrillation would want from lifestyle risk factor reduction programmes.
The study provider has advised that they will be seeking to recruit as soon as possible, therefore this will be based on a first-come-first-served basis. We can ensure that your information will only be used for the purposes of the study only.
If you wish to participate: please contact Tracy; info@heartrhythmalliance.org at your earliest convenience with your name, email address, telephone number, residence and finally your Consent to share these details with the Study provider. Please do not leave messages on the Forum.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Kind regards
