Just had a glass of squash , not icy cold but after I’d had a drink I could feel my heart beating , a really strong feeling and I’m sure I could hear it too, sounds mad but that’s how it felt. I’ve been getting feelings of thumping in my chest by my pacemaker the last 10 days but this has really nade me wonder whats going on. Have I lost the plot 🤣🤣🤣

Hi

How long have you had pacemaker? If you are new to it - it might just be the pacemaker doing it’s job ie ‘kicking in’ because it needs to to adjust heart rate or your settings might need to be adjusted. It depends which kind of pacemaker you have. I have Biotronic closed loop simulator duel chamber & mine does an update at a certain time and it ‘fast paces’ my heart and it feels like my heart is about to pound through my chest it lasts around 2 mins or so whilst it downloads and backs up all the data from the day. Or it could just be your intolerant to cold drinks & it makes your heart best fast or your experiencing ectopics or AF there’s a number of ifs and buts & or I’m afraid. But ring your pacemaker clinic explain what’s happening and they will have you in to do a check and if they see anything then they will contact your cardiologist or EP if you are so worried contact your Dr or if it’s something that’s new & unusual you can always call 111. There are too many variants to really be able to help you too specifically as I don’t know your specific circumstances

I hope you feel better soon
