Hi all

For the past 2 hours I’ve been feeling short bursts of 3 beat bigeminy. I called the dr on call at my cardios office and he’s said I shouldn’t worry. I’m so terrified right now I’m even shaking. Has anyone else felt this and can this be a byproduct of chronic anxiety? Please help😞

Bigeminy is alternate ectopics and normal beats, one after the other. Trigeminy is two normal beats followed by one ectopic. I get both occasionally, always with gas in the stomach or bowels. Anxiety plays a part so, if you have been checked out ok, just try to keep busy and ignore it. Sitting with your finger on your pulse is the worst thing to do. Hope you are better soon.

You did the best thing by calling your cardiologist. Please try to keep in mind that you have an ICD! Try to stay positive, prayers your way🙏

Hi,

I have bigeminy and trigeminy throughout the day and night. Then will go ten beats or more for intervals.

I've been told that structurally my heart is normal. Tried Verapamil, no success, and had an ablation in May which actually made them far worse! So take caution with that one.

I do think they are worse with worry/anxiety, but it's hard to say whether the ectopic are causing the anxiety or vice versa!

I called one of the BHF nurses who was very reassuring and they seemed to calm down after that! But then after the ablation they are now worse than ever. If I'm feeling a flutter I try not to do anything too strenuous.

Ultimately, I know it's easy to say, but panicking is just what your heart doesn't need, so relaxation/distraction techniques can be the key to feeling better. I did actually have to stop reading the posts on here for a couple of months, but it is a fantastic way of comparing symptoms, various treatments and outcomes, and a comfort that we are not facing these health issues alone.

Hope I have helped if only in a small way.
