Two years ago was on Apixaban when Practice Pharmacist got in touch to say they wanted to switch me on to Edoxaban main benefit to me was one tablet a day compared to one in the morning and remembering to take one in the evening benefit to the GP practice - cost!

Practice Pharmacist rang today to say they wanted to switch me back to Apixaban as Edoxaban is to be discontinued!

Explained that Edoxaban suited my life style and asked was it really down to a cost issue and she admitted it was (so she was telling porkies about Edoxaban ceasing)

Read an article that two years ago NHS/GPs were given millions to switch to Edoxaban possibly now Apixaban is making contributions!

As for now I've told them I am staying on Edoxaban but expect it's not the last I hear from them wanting me to switch!

Am appalled that the practice pharmacist lied about Edoxaban being discontinued. How can you then trust these people

Just received an email from the Edoxaban UK distributor and they state there are no plans to discontinue the product in the UK. Sad thing is that moving forward I will not trust anything the Practice Pharmacist has to say!

My test for kidney function was overdue by three months and there in my app when I looked it said I had had that and other tests with results! Thought for a moment I was going mad . Rang the practice and at first the receptionist tried to tell me I had had them . Then went away . Came back and told me it was “ an administrative note” from the pharmacist . In other words they had claimed the money but not done the tests. Same thing happened to friend at practice down road. Don’t trust any of them

Interesting as I have been on Edoxoban for nearly 2 years, before that, Asprin.
