good evening, I have written about this topic before, it is a treatment that I have been taking for four years now with b blockers, I am asking for medical advice, simple experiences, I am taking b blockers for palpitations, which started from a period of stress, now these pills control the heart is fine, but my problem is if they affect the brain, the mind, I feel dizzy a feeling that I am going to get something, have you talked to doctors, he doesn't think that a small dose of atenolol 0.25 can have side effects, I used to take nebivolol bisoprolol and now atenolol. I would like to hear related experiences of how these pills affect the brain

Sorry if the translation is bad, I'm not asking for medical experiences,

Hi Giorgos

I think we can all understand what you are asking. I think if I started feeling dizzy, I would wonder if my beta blockers were taking my heart rate down too low. Have you a way of measuring yours when you feel that way?

good evening, I keep measuring it, it doesn't drop below 60 per minute, I just feel the front of the head numb as if I'm going to pass out, I can't explain it as tension in the forehead, when the effect of the pill wears off I feel better, I take it every 2 hours in the morning before bed, I think it creates more stress for me

You need to report that this is happening to your doctor. It may have nothing to do with your heart. Also be aware that a low blood pressure caused by lack of drinking enough water can sometimes make you feel this way. Have you measured your blood pressure when this is happening?

all measurements are normal, I also told the cardiologist that these pills make me feel sick but he doesn't believe me, the main problem is that I don't sleep as well as before, in general these pills make me more hesitant plus a feeling of hopelessness, anyway the only way is to stop them with a doctor's input of course

There are plenty of other beta blockers you could try. I asked my cardiologist if I could go on Nebivol and he laughed and said it wasn't for me. I wish I'd asked why now. Usually, people feel better when taking that pill. I see you have Bisoprolol on your medication list and guess you have stopped taking that?

bisoprolol was the worst for me, then I took nebivolol I slept better with this pill but it doesn't control my palpitations well, my doctor told me a year ago to stop them he just said you will have palpitations, and I asked him to switch pill and he prescribed atenolol, but he told me that I will feel very tired with this pill because it is too strong for some, how are you?

I've just re-read your post and see that you are now taking Atenolol. I have no experience with this drug whatsoever. If you put your post on the Atrial Fibrillation forum, I feel you will get more responses. Here is the link to it:

Hi GiorgosOccasionally when laying down or sitting and then suddenly standing up I get dizzy sensations in my head, some times I faint. Used to be a regular thing when in my 20's. Now 30 years later not as common, but can still occur. I was told years ago it was because my blood pressure was too low. Not enough blood pumped to the brain? Do you experience the same?

I'm on daily Flecanide and Diltiazem for AF, but I haven't experienced an increase in the dizzy spells.

good evening no I don't experience this, it's hard to explain sometimes I feel a nervousness an anxiety from this pill that I didn't have before, and it makes me feel like I'm drunk plus I feel like I have a cold all the time, my problem was that I had palpitations my heart was pounding with a sinus rhythm,

I can often feel my heart beating strongly when sitting quietly or laying down. It will be beating at approx 60 bpm, and in normal rhythm. There is a condition called pulsatile tinnitus, where there is a blood vessel close to your ear, so you can "hear" your pulse. I think I have that. When you have issues, I think you become more aware of your heart beating. Best to discuss with your Dr if you are worried however.

I can hear my pulse when I plug my ears, anyway this week I will go to a neurologist to look at my migraine, and I will also talk to him about the doubts I have about b blockers especially in the brain, somewhere I read a post here can i find it, and it said that b blockers have side effects related to suppressing adrenaline in the brain,

What is your blood pressure? I experience dizziness from sitting to standing at times. My BP yesterday was 96/62. It’s been as low as 80/57. Drinking plenty of water and a little extra salt can help.

good evening my blood pressure is at normal levels, simple I feel an instability sometimes my pulse does not drop below 60 beats per minute, but I don't know if these pills cause numbness in the head especially in the front of the head, plus all this I also have a feeling depressed which is obviously from the b blockers

good evening, for the first 6 months I didn't have any problem, a bit with my breathing, something like shortness of breath, then I started having trouble sleeping, insomnia and not quality sleep, sometimes I had moments of anxiety that I didn't have before, the worst was when my vision was stolen me, it made me feel very pessimistic, because I was an optimistic person, I felt like dying honestly even though the dose was 2.5mg a day, maybe the problem came because I had to take these pills, and I started them just for palpitations,
