I’ve been sick with a cold for about a day and have run a low grade fever off and on. I’ve also had insomnia the whole time. During the course thus far my pulse has stayed in a constant range of around 115 to 120. It’s normally around the 70’s and 80’s and I take a beta blocker to help with keeping my pulse lower. I know getting sick can raise a persons pulse and insomnia can do that too but I feel like mine is a bit higher than the norm of that. I have been diagnosed in the past with svt and palpataions. I was just wondering if anyone else has this issue when they are sick and/or have insomnia/lose sleep.

Have cold & insomnia with high pulse
Yes I do unfortunately. I find any infection throws me off balance in this way. See how things are once you feel better and if things don't improve it might be wise to see your medic for a check up. Best wishes.
That is quite a high pulse rate and it doesn't sound right to me. I think I would want to have an ECG to see just what your heart is doing.
Before the beta blocker when sick with a flu etc it would always be 130 etc all the time until well again. I'm on bisoprolol now and I had a sinus infection a few weeks back and noticed my pulse which is normally 60s was 90s etc. So yes I find if I have had a lack of sleep the pulse jumps very high same as when unwell.
Same thing happens to me. I had horrible pelvic pain a couple months back with a fever and my heart rate went crazy. I’m on metoprolol and am normally between 60 and 70 resting. During this event my resting was around 90 and getting up from laying down pushed me to 130 and boom SVT. Take it easy because stress makes it worse. It took a week for me heart to calm down.
Don't have those issues, but whenever I'm not sure about things like this I consult with my PP or cardiologist. Hope you feel better soon, prayers for you🙏
ur gonna be alright, being sick and specially having a fever and restlessness will get ur heart beat rapid between 95 to 110/115 or so, so ur body fights infection after it all passes ur pulse should be back in a day or two
