I sometimes get a fast heart beat. I do not worry about this as it only lasts about 1 min and is irregular. My son 24 have very irregular heart beats. Sometimes it goes to 200 per min. But he gets a lot of pain with his and have been known to collapse with it. They have put him on beater blockers but it does not help. They done some tests but he have been told he is too young to have a heart condition. What is going on. My mum died of a heart problem no one knew of but they put it down to her also being a alcoholic. I have not had a drink in 8 years and my son only drink a little when out for a meal

Try to get a referral to an EP (eletrophysioogist). They are the experts on uneven heartbeats, which are usually identified as Atrial Fibrillation. He needs a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
