Doesn't sound like a medical reason to get rid of you. Contact your union for advice.

Hi Stoyles,

I'm 53 also a support worker at my local college. I am having a meeting on 10 Jan Tues. Its about early retirement. I have been off work now for nearly 12 months, I had a cardiac arrest & haven't felt well ever since I have had a pacemaker fitted, that flutters now & then, I also get pins & needles in both arms, but not at the same time thank god..However I do not know if I'll get any help from the council, I'll have to find out..

I cannot see how they can just get rid of you, if necessary they should offer support to enable you to do your job or offer a suitable alternative. You work within the NHS so they would be ill advised to make your life difficult! It's classed as "constructive dismissal". There are restrictions with your device but there are plenty of things that can be put in place to assist you.
