Hi ya usually they have to do the op within 12, weeks from pre op or they have to repeat the process. However with Covid that may change. I didn’t have a spinal block but if that has been suggested it will be in ur interest

All the best xx

Hi - I had a total hysterectomy last year (I also had a c-section many years ago) - no keyhole surgery for me, my scar is straight down from my belly button. The pain after surgery wasn’t too bad, but I was on a morphine drip for a few days and be warned, it makes your whole body itch like mad! I was very glad when it was removed and managed perfectly well with paracetamol afterwards. You will have to inject anti clotting medicine for 28 days in either your stomach or your thighs - I flippin hated that! You will get tired very quickly when trying to do things - I tried to walk a little further every day once I was home, but always chose routes where there were places to stop and rest - it took six weeks before I felt properly well again. Oh then there’s the fun part - menopause (or second menopause in my case) due to no longer producing oestrogen - try to get HRT if you can. Best of luck to you! x
