It’s been two weeks since my laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy. I have horrible pain whenever anything moves in my bowels and I can only have a BM if I leave as far back as I can on the toilet. What’s that about?

It’s probably your bowels moving against internal scarring, esp the vaginal cuff. It should settle but, if not, maybe see your GP if you’re concerned.

Take care, rest lots. Cx

I was the same until around 4 weeks past though I thought peppermint tea helped with wind plus the bowel flow, I took Ducolax stool softner/laxative at nights as hadnt gone until around 6 days post op.

I actually felt the stool was quite old and very smelly that eventually started passing, 6 days of not going definately affected that! Though since about week 3 I've been regular and almost a bit over regular in the mornings.

I'm taking more time to relax as about week 3 I started doing too much and hindered myself as that big swolen pain feeling returned and I had been hoovering and mopping a little (obviously too much too soon. )

Good luck!

Helly.
