As your mum is diabetic, perhaps it would be a good idea to check with her diabetic nurse? The usual advice is to increase fibre intake, so eat more vegetables, and to make sure you are drinking enough. Some people find that milk / dairy products can cause constipation.

This is a page from Diabetes uk.

Please check with her doctor first...Can she eat steamed broccoli and count towards her carbs? Add a dash of Braggs Liquid Aminos to make it delicious! Two prunes a day may be effective.

I find stewed apples help as well when eaten as a pudding with custard, no sugar or use Stevia! Fibre increase and drinking fluids helps too definitely like Penel suggested!Lack of exercising, walking etc can contribute to constipation Kathleen!

They do recommend a glass of water in the morning when you wake up, before eating breakfast! I have porridge with blueberries 🫐, 1 banana 🍌and a bit of orange 🍊 juice! But you can vary the fruit suitable with porridge! Is your Mum Diabetes 2 or 1 ?🥰🙏
