Prepping my breakfast smoothies

In these crazy times we’re going through it’s important that we all look after our health. Most mornings I have a smoothie for breakfast. I love including kale and spinach so when I buy them I pop them into small ziplock bags in the freezer. I also freeze excess bananas (peeled and in freezer bags) and always have frozen blueberries.

That sounds yummy 😋

Hi Kaz, we do indeed need to look after our health so great tips here I love the thought of sliced frozen bananas. 😊

that is a good idea because ages ago I started off making smoothies but soon lost the inspiration and will because I was too disorganised to have the necessary selection of fresh ingredients and/or I found buying things expensive then I would waste half of it. Do you wash the kale, spinach etc or just freeze portions of it as it comes?

I wash it all and dry it with paper towel or clean tea towels, then bag it up. That way I can pop it straight into my NutriBullet.

Really good Idea Kaz747, I would do that, if only I could find any spinach or kale.

I was thinking about having smoothies for breakfast - much healther than boring old cereal

I use almond and coconut milk, blueberries, banana, spinach, kale, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, hemp seeds, psyllium husk and LSA (linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds).

Couple of years back I was growing that much kale & collards that I used to take it down to my local produce stand & they would sell it for me, I never took cash but would exchange it for produce. If I went out at night & shon a flashlight at the kale it kind of glows on the backs of the leaves, amazing stuff, the collards too but can only grow it through the winter, they don’t like the humid 100 degree weather
