Myself, Michael- one of my Neighbours- and Josh- one of our Support Staff, went into Clacton earlier- It is about a twenty minute bus ride from where we live.
Once there we found a, really lovely, Place to eat😋 it was a Large (double) Fronted Café- cum Restaurant- on the road leading down to the Sea Front. We all hesitated slightly being, as it was right near the 'Amusements', before going in. There was a 'Specials' board showing a Chicken, Mushroom, Cheese and Spaghetti Bake which we ALL chose. The waitress 'Zip' (Honestly!) was Very 'attentive', but NOT In Your Face. She delivered our drinks, as we waited for our food- well worth the Wait😃
Dessert Followed, we chose different items there, before Settling an- actually fairly Reasonable- bill. We were given a 15% Voucher, for next Time- so long as we eat within a fortnight...I can't see a Problem there somehow😂.
Apart from a Little shopping and a cup of coffee, which we put into Take Away cups, since the Bus was Due, we pretty much just came Home.
In all a VERY pleasant, few hours.

It sounds like it was a very satisfying day in many ways than one. I drove to Reigate yesterday and the weather was glorious so I’m hoping it was the same in Clacton.
According to the Forecast, for today (17) it is a 'Bit Wet' in the morning, but Brightening Up this afternoon. According to ME, it's Clear but Cloudy- no rain, so far!
Great that you all had an enjoyable trip to Clacton and a delicious meal at the Café there. Great that you had a 15% voucher for next time you visit!
Your Chicken, Mushroom, Cheese and Spaghetti Bake sounds a perfect meal to celebrate National Pasta day, which is 17th October 2019, according to the Events topic - I just noticed it, and I'm wondering whether I'll be enjoying any pasta later today or not. I'm out to dinner tonight, so it will depend on the menu!
I think healthy means having the odd "unhealthy" meal, without guilt, and enjoying it As long as you aren't eating it every meal, every day, then you're fine!
Hello AndrewT I'm very glad that you enjoyed your day out as it sounds like a very enjoyable meal and day trip. So nice one and good for Josh the support staff. 😊
I think just to have a trip out with friends and have a nice meal (healthy or not) is seen as... healthy.
For me, I spent a lot of time at home for quite a few years and didn’t get out much cos I lacked confidence,
Headway have helped raise my confidence and I now get out and about on my own frequently now and just doing that; going to cafés, doing some shopping, meeting new people is what I see as healthy.
I, my parents and my aunty and uncle usually have a meal once a month and we had a meal earlier this week.
We went to a pub on one of the walls inside there is a ‘specials’ board and it said that their food was cooked in vegetable oils and they used modified starch too.
When I read that I was put off. Vegetable oils are not good for you and neither is any food or food ingredient that is modified.
So reading whether what was said on the specials board refers to the food off the menu as well, I don’t know.
But on the tables they have pots on the tables with packs of sauces and even the ingredients in those are modified crap and use rapeseed oil.
