How about sugar free jelly with fruit in .
Fresh berries and yoghurt?
I’ve had to drastically reduce sugar. My go-to sweet treats are now things like Greek yoghurt with berries, banana pancake (1 small mashed banana mixed with 1 large beaten egg, cook like an omelette), Greek yoghurt mixed with no-added-sugar muesli, apple, peach, two squares of luxury dark chocolate.
Ooh love the sound of the banana pancake - I may have to pinch that recipe!
Just remember, one average size banana ( 120 gm ) has equivalent of approx. 6 tspn of table sugar.
Whhaatttttt???! 😲

Choose fruits wisely if you are on weight loss journey.
Well yes it does contain intrinsic sugar, but a barely ripe one has less than a ripe one, and it does contain other useful nutrients, also in this case it’s not eaten in isolation, the egg will reduce the glycemic load. I wouldn’t advocate stuffing down multiple bananas a day but an occasional small barely ripe one shouldn’t be a problem if it’s your only sweet food of the day.
Sorry, I did not mean one should not eat banana. It is just that one should be aware of its sugar contents so that it can be taken into account of total daily allowance. Unfortunately, we have been taking too much sugar both hidden and free. That is why Dr Unwin has released the information on sugar contents of commonly used foods.
Yes I do like his graph, makes it so clear to see what sugars are in different foods, would be good if it could be extended to a wider range of foods, like you say to enable people to make choices over their daily intake.
Hi Rcb1982
Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. You've got some great suggestions - they all sound really great. What did you go for in the end?
