My 15 year old footballing son has broke his 5th metatarsal for the second time in 4 months. Someone suggested calcium tablets, he has an excellent diet so thought he was getting all nutrients needed. Any advice appreciated.

Have you talked with your son's doctor to see if he should be put on anything? What had the doctor told you at the last appointment?
Thanks for your reply docs just X-rayed and put him in a cast said nothing about lacking in anything just the more people we talk to say to put him on calcium tablets.
Footballers do tend to break bones a lot. It's just the nature of the game. Calcium tablets are unlikely to make any difference. Are you sure he doesn't just need new boots?
What does he eat, generally? You might be surprised how much a 15-year-old sportsman will eat. If he's not getting around 2800kCal/day (plus or minus), he might just be not eating enough.
