Hi shogg, do you mean to lose weight because here's some cornflakes facts for you.

100g cornflakes = 350 calories then if you add milk + 100/120 calories plus added sugar and or fruit. This is not a big portion and could easily be between 500 /600 calories.

I think that for weight loss you could find a more filling healthier option that corn flakes, like porridge, that's my opinion.

If you want to lose weight fast, you will need to change what you eat.

As Jerry has said, corn flakes are not the best choice for weight loss. If you need a quick breakfast, you could try making overnight oats, or you could have plain yoghurt and add fruit, some chopped nuts, pumpkin seeds etc.

If you have more time, try an omelette with veg or salad.

These articles has some ideas on losing weight fast.

Hi shogg, very sorry to hear you are heading for an op. Can I echo comments about cornflakes. Your body needs sufficient calories to assuage hunger throughout each and every day, else you will binge when depression hits. Porridge is an excellent start to almost anyone's day. I have mine made with water and a chopped banana or some berries as a sweetener.

Have you seen the film Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead - it's on youtube. Very inspiring story that started my journey. It may help give you motivation to help you through difficult times and ideas that may help you.

I wish you well! Grain-based carbs like breakfast cereal, bread, pasta, rice will all turn to sugar when you eat them, spike your insulin, then leave you hungry 2 hours later when the sugar spike crashes. And insulin is what moves fat into fat cells. Like Penel suggested, eggs & yogurt will fill you up, assuming you don't buy the yogurt with sugar added! Look for plain Greek yogurt, throw some cream in to replace the fat they generally strip out of it, and it will be a LOT more filling that way. If you want the sweet, add berries or something, or a packet of stevia. Healthy fats (not processed vegetable oils) will go a long way toward making you feel full, and cutting back on those carbs will get you on the road to losing weight. I hope you come through all this in good shape! I hope you get back on here to update us.
