Pacing myself

I've always tended to go at things like a bull at a gate, with the result that I end up getting stressed out and not doing anything as well as I could, Staring today I'm going to be working on pacing myself more, taking time to chill out, and am investigating meditation techniques. My diet is pretty healthy really but probably could be better (I tend to sometimes eat too late at night). I'm already learning a lot from this site and thank all the people that have already offered suggestions and advice.

Hi Brydon2018,

Sometimes I try to be so efficient that I trip over myself and we all do that in different ways.

So to me the fact that 'you' can see that change is needed and you've joined us coupled with your interest in meditation is a great step.

Most people feel stress because they are absorbed in the past or the future and thats what meditation can help teach us because the past is gone however good or bad, its gone. And as for worrying about the future its much harder dealing with prospective problems than when they just occur. Because in reality when a problem occurs we deal with it there and then, because dealing with the problem absorbs us in the present moment.

So if you're constantly worrying about the past or the future then tomorrow will be more of the same. But if you feel that now is OK then tomorrow will be OK as well.

And good luck and well done for being honest about yourself.

Jerry. 😊

If you're trying meditation and find your mind still racing or difficult to focus, try this technique. It really helps, 'specially if you've got some chilled out music on. Also it comes with the added bonus of good skin! Yay!

Good video! :D

That looks like a good wakey up routine!

I practice Tui Na, & like sticking acupuncture needles in my head for better focus. :)

It's a traditional Chinese massage style meaning pushing & grasping. It can be done very gently almost like a hands on reiki, or as strong & painful as a sports massage. Sometimes it's done with acupuncture or can be a stand alone treatment. It makes me especially popular with dogs! :)

Accupressure is great & very easy for self-maintenance. Take a look at this website for good points to do that suit your health: acutakehealth.com/acupressu...

If in doubt, start with Kidney 1 on the sole of the feet. It's easy to massage with a small ball. Remember ALWAYS to keep your feet warm to protect your kidneys! :)

Hiya, have a look at the website that BadHare posted to me a couple of comments up, it looks really good and worth a go if you're trying to slow down a bit.

Best wishes

Starting to get my act together better. Really watching what I eat. Studies in America are saying a lot about the 'food additives' that manufacturers have been shoving into processed food for 30 years or more - even some evidence of a Cancer link. Trouble is all this kind of stuff can leave you paranoid - you feel scared to eat anything you didn't grow yourself! But as I love cooking I can usually stick to fresh. Love my wok!
