Hi,

I recently had an operation and have been pretty much bed bound it’s still not completely healed so I’m refraining from the gym and it’s Mum on week 5 now. My diet went out the window. I was very active and healthy before hand!

Is it easy to get back into it once been off for quite some time? Like has anyone been through the same sort of thing?

Hi. If you press the little arrow in the box on the right at the end of your post it will give you an option to edit or delete that post..

I made a mistake in my reply to you, as when i reread it didnt make sense, so i deleted it.

I hope you get well and start your exercises soon.

Hi WestyG

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum, and I'd like to wish you well in your recuperation after your operation. I also noticed that you wanted to edit your post, as your autospell had put 'Mum' - you can easily do that by clicking on the arrow to the right of the word 'Follow post' and then there will be a drop-down menu and one of the options will be 'edit' - you can then change your post to what you'd like it to be. Just an option if you want to do that.

Hope you recover very soon.

Zest :-)

Hey I fell out of the health game and I am trying to get my mojo back. Don’t worry just get yourself recovered! Then take baby steps and you will be back before you know it. Your body never forgets it’s fitness so you will be back at the level you were before. I found this forum motivating me helped.

Hope you recover soon, and take it all in your stride

😀

Oh that’s good to hear thanks AmylouWilson I was just worried as I worked really hard prior to the op to get to the level I was at and didn’t want it all to go to waste

I’ve not had surgery, but do have health/pain conditions which frequently leave me housebound. For many years, I’ve been in the habit of making sure I’m never without easy healthy options. I drink kefir every day, which is as simple to make as a pot of tea, & provides me with good probiotics to benefit my digestion & provide micronutrients. I ensure I have good sources of clean protein & oils available as I buy nuts & seeds in bulk. I get fresh fruit & vegetables delivered from an organic company, so that on bad weeks or months, there’s no effort involved in shopping.

Good days I’ll cook in bulk & stock my fridge. Bad weeks, I eat kefir, fruit, nuts, & seeds.
